Our mission
Alamitos Beach Cleanup was founded in 2014 with a focus on maintaining clean beaches, to preserve the beauty of the local environment, and protecting marine species. When plastic breaks down into smaller pieces called microplastics, fish and other marine animals will ingest the toxic chemicals inside microplastics. As a result, humans who consume fish and other marine animals have become increasingly exposed to these toxic chemicals. We invite our volunteers to join us in eliminating garbage from Alamitos Beach so we may preserve our beautiful beaches and protect our ecosystems.
